Feast of the Sacred Heart – 13 June 2010 at Moya Parish.

The Celebration was hosted in Moya Parish, Tembisa, on the 13th June 2010. Fr. Vincent Sello msc is the Parish Priest. The ceremony started with a procession of singing and dancing into the Church. The singing was led by “The Choir” who did an excellent job. The Service was very reverent and there was lots of sharing by different groups from different Parishes.

Most of the MSC Priests were present and this was a golden opportunity to thank them for their dedication and service. The Year of the Priest ended on the same day. The Priests were all presented with a Plaque as a token of appreciation.

This also coincided with the beginning of the “Fifa Soccer World Cup” which started on the 11th June 2010. From the pictures you will see that the atmosphere was very much influenced by this event, as some people came dressed in the soccer spirit. This also added to the atmosphere which prevailed throughout the Celebration.

The Service ended with a Blessing and was followed by a wonderful sharing of a meal. The Organisers are to be congratulated on the efficient planning and the organisation of the Celebration. It was really a huge success.

Novena to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart: 30 Nov – 8 December 2010

A Novena is a devotion consisting of prayers said on nine consecutive days, asking to obtain special graces. These prayers can consist of small prayers during the day, recitation of the Rosary or special prayers from a ‘Novena-Book’.

The practice refers to the tradition that Mary and the apostles prayed for 9 days in the upper room, and then the Holy Spirit descended upon them Acts 1:13-14.
